  1. I second that notion, I'll take the citizens if you split. Haven't tried them yet and that looks like an ideal variety starter pack.
  2. Duuuude.. is there like an email notification list I can get on for one of these?? I don't have social media or anything. Gah that looks sick!
  3. I agree with all the previous answers. 4 oz. Is do-able with a 200, but you will notice how it can be pushing it for the reel if you try to get crazy casting real far. I'm also a leader guy, and I use the curado 200 DC. The holes are big enough for a leader knot. As long as your line size is reasonable and your not tying doubled over connection knots. I use 40-50lb braid to #16-#25 flouro or mono, with a FG knot.
  4. I have 2 questions about this rod. Does this one have the ferruled grip? Also how would this compare to the dobyns 795? I'm looking for a more sensitive tipped TK rod. The 795 works, but it's a tad bit too much for the TK imo.
  5. Like people have said, the K9 is easier and quicker to learn the "walk" than the TK. But the TK is still awesome. Sharp crisp twitches ALWAYS make it cut to one side in my experience. But subtle, gentle twitches make it walk. Think of it as walking a small non-popping frog. Find some clear water, and practice. I usually get 3 to 4 twitches before a reel turn when I'm walking the TK. Cheers.
  6. Can officially say the TK works in Texas ponds now. With out a doubt!
  7. Did anybody say Deps tiny bull shooter yet? I forgot to say that one earlier, it works in Texas as well, and don't need specialty gear to throw it.

  9. +1 on the gantarel, and gantarel jr. I've had success with these in Texas. Also the TK, it's still kinda new to me, I've had a couple of swings and misses in ponds. But not enough experimentation to confirm pond success.
  10. I recently just got the Garmin echomap UHD 73sv. It checks all the boxes you need. I've only used it a couple of times so far, but I do really like it. It is the nicest fish finder I've ever bought. Prolly not super helpful, cause I don't have anything to compare to besides some older lowrance models. But overall happy with my purchase, and if I want I can add livescope with the purchase of the upgraded transducer/mount. I think you can do that with almost any brand now though.
  11. That would be soo badass if that's as good as their mono. I wanna know too! Has anybody tried this line?!
  12. Sunline FC sniper. The go-to for me.

  14. I'll take the bottom one!
  15. I dunno the exact sink rate, But I can say I've caught a fish on one shallow. It is much slower than I anticipated, but not slow enough for me to fish it from the bank, usually save it for the kayak. Like I've gone swimming to get one back from bank fishing a pond. Like mayybe 1/2 foot per second I'm guessing. If your gonna spend that kinda money on a bait to bank fish with and you want a bigger profile, drt K9 or TinyKlash is the way to go in low-float in my opinion. Hope this was somewhat helpful!
  16. I'm gonna lead off with the fact that I haven't been swimbaiting for "years". But I have been fishing for most my life. The conquests should work absolutely fine. Hell I even use 150 size reels for some of my setups. The size of the reel allows for larger line capacity, which you need for running thicker line, as it takes up more space. But if your not casting a country mile at a time, 300 size reels aren't completely necessary, unless your trying to catch something that can pull you across a lake. Also, the gear ratio is something people overlook. Most guys bumping bottom with softies prefer a lower gear ratio like the Calcuttas have. When you start chopping glide baits, that's when a higher gear ratio is preferred. Not mandatory, you could do both on either, but it is a bit easier sticking to those principles for your cadence sake. Hope this helps man!
