So decided to make a “phat pats” clone type bait instead of paying $300 for one. made from ayc, double heat epoxy sealed, all magnum ss screw eyes, hand painted 12mm eyes, rasco split rings, owner st41 hooks, DOA tail, and 4 coats of auto clear. Body was 8.5” before cutting the V joints and tail, overall is like 9.5”. Weighs 3.5oz rigged. Swims on top at all speeds, excels on a slow/medium retrieve, will swim down about 6-10” on a long cast and faster retrieve to get it down. Had a great squeak and knock to it. Tuned it on Friday in calm and choppy conditions. Just needed a slight line tie tweak. Took it out Saturday at 5am-10am. First cast of the morning, a 2.5lber smoked it about 10 cranks in.
