The family and I are driving out to CA in mid-July to visit relatives who live in Newport Beach and so that my wife and kids can blow an astonishing amount of money to go to Disneyland. I'd rather have 3/0 Owner ST-41s jabbed into my fingernails than go to that place (too many people) so I am trying to find somewhere to go fishing on the day or two that they'll be at the "happiest place on earth". Freshwater would be great, saltwater would be great too - there's not much saltwater in Colorado! I've seen the videos of people throwing swimbaits at calico bass an that would be wicked, but I don't know of any guides or charters that specialize in that sort of action. I could also go the freshwater route and throw swimbaits at bass or stripers - I'll have my truck so I can travel. Any suggestions on places to try and/or guides to contact would be appreciated - even a guide trip is going to cost me less than the family will likely spend at the park!
