SPEEDBEAD
Fair enough. Hayden has spared you any more internet beatings. For now...
Ceaser
I have the 6.3:1's to take up line quick for glides, topwaters and lipless swimmers. I have been throwing some lipped crankdowns on it and def prefer my 5.1 reels, more torque for pulling the baits down
tsteadyslayin
I know that but whats the differences in gear ratio Why you gotta be a dick about it? That's how most people would answer that question. No bueno. Woah..Sorry if it came off as that way.
SPEEDBEAD
It's good. I'm cranky in the morning.
tsteadyslayin
The higher the ratio the more line per crank the reel picks up. 5.1 is typically a good reel for slow moving baits like a Hudd. 6.3 & 7.1 are better for faster moving baits To expand on this answer, the ratio is broken down for revolutions of the spool vs. revolutions of the handle. for example: 6.3:1 tells you that for every 1 revolution of the reel handle, the spool revolves 6.3 times. The more the spool revolves, the more line is gathered. The more line that is gathered, the faster the retrieve speed. Make sense? Yes really appreciate the help! Fat-G
Fair enough. Hayden has spared you any more internet beatings. For now... I agree with everyone else, 5.1 or 6.3 reels for me. I had a 7.3:1 JDM revo that was WAY too fast for me. It was a sick reel, but too fast!
Top Ramen
I know that but whats the differences in gear ratio Why you gotta be a dick about it? That's how most people would answer that question. No bueno. I took it the same way but I've been kicked off enough fishing forums that I've learned to give people the benefit of the doubt. It's the Internet; sometimes people just don't know things that seem obvious to the rest of us. So, I walked out of the room, had a play-fight with my pig to blow off some steam and came back and answered it as nicely as I could manage. ; 0 ) BTW, I like 5:1 reels for swimbaits because, for me personally, it's harder to slow the bait down than it is to speed it up. The only exception would be on a topwater stick bait like a Punker.
