CG_Fishes Posted March 16, 2022 Report Share Posted March 16, 2022 Finally got some time to fish now that I'm home on spring break, this semester has been kicking my ass. With two days left of the pike season here in NY, and rising water levels/temps I knew I had a good shot at a big fish. Within 20 minutes of fishing I had this 32.5 engulf my 9" magslowl at my feet after following the previous cast. Definitely got my blood pumping and gave me some confidence I kept fishing until sunset, catching two more small (low-mid 20s) pike and missing/losing 6 others. One of which being the fish I have been searching for the past year, at least 36" and maybe over 40". Went out again today looking for her but no dice. Out of 11 bites, I caught 2 this being my largest I did lose one that I believe to have been well over 30 again due to weight. At least I got to spend two days out in the gorgeous weather we have been having here in NY. No more pike until May 1st, which hurts since I lost such big fish but I'll be back once the season opens.
