Jinxd12
In between building and painting baits when I need a break from the garage I have been messing around with this wood rat/mouse. I knew I didn't want a super detailed rat, bit definitely more curves and big ears and want it to crankdown more than wake. This is what I ended up with after about 2 months of poking at it with sandpaper and a exacto knife. I sanded it one last time last night and used the little bit of silicone I had left to make a 1 piece mold. Actually surprised the mold came out so good. Poured a bait today and just went to town. It is semi rough layout but swims like I thought it would. I was hoping it would walk in place, where I put the weight kind of had the bait sitting head down. Not a bad thing, but not expected either. Bait will get down probably 5' or so right now, but definitely still in tinkering phase. I poured 3 baits, I'll make 1 wake and the other one crankdown but different weight placement. These are about 5.5" (without tail) and maybe 1.5oz if I had to guess a weight. Still need to figure out eye placement, eye size, and eye type. So many rats out there got to pick something different.
