banks customs
Trying to decide between the Daiwa Lexa 300 or Shimano Curado 300 E? Not concerned on price (as they are close) but any thoughts on which you prefer would be helpful. Thanks much.
vikingbear8
If you shop around you can easily find a Lexa 300 for $150 which is $100 cheaper than you can usually get a curado plus is has a lot more drag. If I liked low pro reels for swimbaits I would get a Lexa without hesitation
Bassman88
+1 on the lexa.
Top Ramen
The Curado is probably a slightly better reel but it's not $50 better and it's certainly not $100 better.
bassbass
I have 2 curados and love them. I just picked up the lexa 300SHL for $120 shipped at the Tackle Trap. Will try this spring.
t.musky
I also run the Curado's and have had no problems, been using them for years. I think time will tell on the Lexa's.
Chase
Had two lexas for over a year and no issues, i love em....now they have the 400 lexa...
Mikey99
I have the Lexa 300 PWRL (lower gear ratio) and I have been using it much more than the Curado 301. It's nice to have the lower ratio in a low profile reel. I think the smoothness and quality is slightly better on the Curado, but I plan to get the Lexa super tuned over the winter. hookedup
I have both, they are both great reels but I like my curados better.
aesoprocks247
Lexas are ugly as sin, curados look like you could bring em home to meet mom. I have both, cant decide which one to get rid of.
Chase
lol I personally like the grey look better on the lexa...like a combat reel
aesoprocks247
That grey looks like crap next to the green with gold flake. I will say that the curado's breaking system is annoying compaired to the lexa's. I feel like I get way better distance out of the lexa but thats probably just my own fault. Tbernz
Cant go wrong with either one. But im a Daiwa guy...
Bass Addict
SPPEDBEED HAS A deal on the lexa in the blackmarket for 140 shipped, get 2 for the price of almost one corrado. It is a great big bait reel, the currado is too but it should be about the same price as the lexa imo. I have 3 lexa's and 2 currados, I use the lexa's more, the drag is unreal, I love the lexa for big stripers and blue fish, it handles them with ease. weedsnager
Weekend warrior, either will do.....fishing hard 4 days a week or more, the curado is gonna hold up better, lexa has a plastic bushing for the pinion gear. Curado is the preferred reel of these two for the musky guys for that reason
