Hey guys looking for any feedback at all regarding this Zodias 7’9” XH 5 oz model. Buddy is looking for a swimbait stick and I wanted to see if anyone has experience with one before he pulls the trigger. Saw a couple threads about the shorter Zodias but not for this one. Thanks guys appreciate you.

I’ve played around with it in stores- from handling it it feels like it’s very parabolic but tapers out to a strong backbone (definitely a hard bait rod). For the price shimano makes a solid product! I’d say for serious swimbait applications though youd be better off with something a little different. The handle length is way short for a 7’9” rod. If you were looking for a great starter rod the Dobyns fury 795 or 806 is super solid at $140. IN SHORT: I think for smaller wakes and glides the zodias would be fine but I just think there are better options if your gonna spend that kinda money. F5 I’ve heard makes phenomenal rods around that price point.

What if the Zodias would only cost 120$, would you say it’s worth it at that price point? The guys never going to throw huge swimbaits
