Choosing between these three rods right now and need your guys input before I pull the trigger. Only gonna be throwing treble hook baits on these rods such as a K9 and 86 doomriders.

I started out with a Dobyns 867.  I really liked that rod with the exception the of the length.  It was unwieldy and nearly unusable on my kayak so it became a bank beater/big boat only kind of deal.  That frustrated me because I LOVE kayak fishing.  I have since given the 867 to my 13 year old to start his journey into the big baits and bought a Leviathan Omega MH and XH.  The overlap on those two rods is such that I didn’t see the point in getting the H and I will tell you.  There is NO comparison between that Dobyns and my Leviathan rods.  All that to say…go with the Leviathan

What’s the biggest difference in terms of quality?

I would say the blank is much higher quality and the fit and finish is just more dialed in overall.  I’m in no way knocking that 867.  It was a hell of a rod.  The Leviathan was just a nice upgrade!

I have an 867 myself and I will say the biggest drawback for me is the length.  It throws the k9 and Doomrider beautifully but the length makes it awkward to use in a kayak and depending where your bank fishing you’ll need some open space. I’d say the Leviathan is your better option based on quality. If price point is a drawback for you I’m pretty sure Scales N Tales podcast has a discount code with Leviathan for 20% off
