Early Winter NJ Staple On The TK

While the bass were not cooperating on this dreary, rainy day, this NJ winter fishing staple provided some enjoyment.

Fishing a small lake, and working on my cold water DRT Tiny Klash game. I managed to get this nice NJ pickerel to commit, dead walking and pausing the slightly weighted TK past the tip of a lay down tree.
When winter hits the Garden State, and the water temps drop, you can always count on a pickerel for some enjoyment when the bass won’t show themselves.

Nice one! Here in the Midwest I like to target pike but sometimes you got to weed through lots of small ones to find a big one.

Thank you.

I have yet to have the pleasure of tangling with pike or musky yet. Bucket list fish for me though.

Good to see you getting at it!  Merry Christmas, Chris!

Thank you Scott. It felt great to be back to some normalcy. Looking forward to the spring.
Merry Christmas to you my friend.
