  1. Gotta love a good rat bite. Looking forward to it soon. Good fish.

  3. Beautiful, clean bass. Well done .
  4. Some really good fish! Definitely nothing to complain about at all. Well done.
  5. Well, unlike my northern NJ brethren, who have been lit this season with both numbers and quality (Kudos to those anglers), it’s been a slow start for me, but I managed a couple medium ones over the weekend. - Not wanting to deal with specific conditions on my home waters, I visited a smaller impoundment that has treated me well in the past. Water clarity was about 12”, so I anticipated a tough bite. Committed to three specific baits, I managed to get one on the custom painted TK, dead walking it at the end of a lay down in about 5’ of water. Very healthy, fat fish: The DRT TK was custom painted by Francisco Galindo of Galindo Baits. Was such a natural looking bait, I also managed to hook a large and very angry snapping turtle. - Not to be deterred, on my next outing I was back on my home waters. The temps finally have risen, and bass were on beds or guarding. The water I was facing was clear with 10’ of visibility. Again, committed to three specific baits, I was not able to capitalize on anything. At this point I was ready to call it a day, and decided to visit an offshore island, that had standing timber. This time I was target casting the same TK as above and dead walking it past specific standing timber. This was one of those bites, while not a giant, it was super enjoyable, watching the bass come from behind a piece of timber, track the bait a few feet then commit. My guess the natural pattern in the clear water was what it took to fool this specific bass into biting. Hopefully this is a start to me finding my “groove”. I do anticipate the season to improve in the near future for me. Again, thank you for your time, it’s much appreciated. I know it’s a long write up for a couple of average size bass.
  6. Nice! Must feel great to catch a bass on a lure you made. Well done.
  7. Solid fish. Congratulations.
  8. That’s a healthy fish. 7.7 ain’t no joke that’s for sure, especially from the bank. Well done.
  9. Solid fish! Took advantage of the conditions in the moment and it paid off big. Well done .
  10. Very productive. Well done. That 24”, at pre spawn, must have been a giant. Timing was not on your side for that one. Still a great catch.
  11. Solid fish. From the looks of it, walking the shore paid off for you with the boat down. Well done. **as for the edit, I think you can do it, but you have only a short window of opportunity to do so. At least that’s been my experience.
  12. That’s a monster bass. 8.02lbs, is a phenomenal catch. Congratulations.
  13. Good fish Be patient and persistent, and when you least expect it, that giant one you seek will be on the end of your line.
  14. Nice! Seemed like an unexpected bite, with some solid fish Pretty cool on the double up, that must have been an Adrenaline rush. From the looks of it, one would think you hooked a male and female happy couple. Talk about “blocking”
  15. I think I may have to put the house up for sale and move to North NJ. .
  16. Congratulations Vance, all the hard work, hours spent on the water has finally paid off tremendously. That is a NJ Giant and a phenomenal PB. ***NJ is really showing its bass fishing potential this season: @captainhookset with a solid PB, now this giant PB. Incredible time to be fishing NJ.
  17. Whoa!! Now that makes for a solid sack of fish alone, so far for the season Congratulations on meeting (and I’m sure by some accounts, exceeding) your goal. Great to see people are putting together multiple big bass catches.
  18. Man commitment paid off big time for you! Nice!!! The wind here in the northeast has been relentless this season. But, hey, it didn’t deter you and you came out a winner. Good write up, very enjoyable and informative read.
  19. 7lbs is definitely one to be proud of. Congratulations. A lot of us are still on the hunt for a 7lb. I’ve been told this a few times: if there was no picture, it’s just makes for a great story.
  20. I’m looking forward to making that trek this season. Definitely going to happen this season.
  21. Wow bro , that’s a great fish. Nobody would complain about catching one of them that size.
  22. Solid one. Nice smallmouth. I don’t hear much on the Goonie Gill, but looks like it’s very productive for you.
  23. Wow! Looks like an epic trip. Well done.
  24. Putting in overtime with this crazy weather and getting it done. Well done sir.
  25. Looks phenomenal. Really digging that darker gill paint scheme.
