Line diameter vs Casting Distance

My two cents  For me, long casts equal missing or losing a big fish. Lots of time for something to go wrong. Typically I am adamant about not making long casts. Are the fish hanging out 60 yards from the boat and not 45? And thinking back, most if not all of my biggest fish came quite close to where I was standing or sitting, whether it was shore fishing, kayak or boat.

Exactly, bad things happen on bomb casts.

i used to be really focused on distance but learned it’s more about where your casting.

Although PLine CXX is an excellent line it’s like using rope compared to the diameter of other lines at the same pound test. For me personally Seaguar is my go to. I feel confident throwing up to 2.5oz on 17lb and 3oz+ on 20lb. Casts like a dream and is excellent with manageability. As stated before though you have to keep in mind the reel you’re using and bait you’re throwing has an effect on distance I think more so then the line itself
