If it’s state law or tourney rule, you follow or gtfo my boat. That being said, I also keep a spare nice vest in my boat.

THAT being said….i stopped fishing tourneys with others cuz I can’t stand people lol. I fish all tourneys alone now. I fish better and smarter. I have more fun. It’s more relaxing. I win more money haha

I’m with most here. I keep 3 in my craft, plus legally required throw flotation devices. Though in truth, I would rather dodge rush hour traffic, barefoot and naked, than enter a tournament. This must know fact clarified, safety first, liability second.

You not only should mandate it, you should have provisions available. Rent the dam thing if you want. The exception being if rules clearly state they must bring their own, or use one a boater provides. Otherwise, if they don’t bring one, and they are not lent one, they don’t fish. The end. You’ll have some upset at you. But they’ll learn their lesson quick. And odds are you’ll probably save someone’s life someday.

I am among the few who have pulled a near victim out the water. Sheer chance. And sheer stupidity. Do not take the risk.

state law in Texas that the pilot has to be wearing a pfd when the boat is under power.

I have yet to see the lake police enforce the law on the hundreds of wake boat captains plowing down lake.

I wear an inflatable all the time......while i don't think it's necessarily a deterrent .....but when authorities see you wearing your pdf in a bassboat, they could be more likely to do safety checks on another boater not wearing one
