:lol: Oh ok! You posted the translation, not me. I just posted the cool story with the spring weight ;)

hookedup, my wife said he mentioned it. Not sure if Ltrain got it in his translation as well, wife said he mentioned it would help with demand. No dates mentioned and nothing said about the old slide swimmer other than that the mold for them is 10 years old.

Yup! If anyone has any more specific questions please direct them to Evan. My dad has told me has officially retired from this thread.

That's what I figured. Hopefully they don't take away anything from the quality, but knowing deps I bet its going to be pretty nice.... I think it would be rad if they sold just the skins so you could change out the colors of your baits.

Yeah I'm stoked about the little spring weight. Not so sure about plastic, but I'll give it a try anyway :D

I think we got a little sneak peak of Deps moving towards this idea of focusing the color patterns to be made on the inside of the bait as opposed to the outside skin with the new "Natural Saiko Trout" color. They put a lot of the detail on the inside core and foil with that color.

The guys who fish this bait ALOT were having fading issues of the foil with the water getting in between the core and the skin. The new injection molded core will hopefully keep color from fading. I speculate they'll put a slim piece of foil inside the core for flash and scale effect and paint the outside much like the run of the mill Hard injected bait and they'll leave the skin transparent for the most part. I'm sure this will also help keep costs down and production will be easier and quicker.

As for how it performs we'll just have to wait and see when it gets into the hands of the public.

A few main points that Mr. Okumura mentioned about the advantage of the clear plastic is that he can be more flexible with colors and patterns. He mentions that with the clear injected plastic, he can now do ghost colors (for you clear water guys) and also he can paint or insert foil inside the body mainly because of how the foil in the current models fades and gets dirty.

He also mentions since you have a hollow interior plastic he can now do things like adding the spring weight ball. (This is a feature that is already being used in one of the Deps shallow crankbaits the "Bell knocker").

One thing to note. He never says if this is better than the old/current model. All he says is the benefits of new model. I guess the Fish will tell us what they like and don't like sooner or later. Hopefully these babies will get in the hands of all you people that fish (or have already been fishing them... 8-) ) and you can share us your findings. :)

As for the new Bullshooter 160. Its a new "medium" size that he was asked to produce. One main that feature I was able to get out of his talk was the angle of the pectoral fins. The new 160 size have a sharper down angle vs the flat pectoral fins of the original Bullshooter and the Bull jr. Mr Okumura says this helps keep fish from gaining leverage of the hook on the fins and popping off.

Bonus info....

For you Jointed Claw fans... Gancraft has a new version of its Jointed Claw called the "prospero"??? I couldn't sound out the translation right? Main feature here is they molded a little anal fin near the rear hook eye and also slightly changed the shape of the mouth. This helps it swim just subsurface better. (Just in the 20cm higher range of the water column) He mentions something else about the swimming pattern which the bass are able to attack it better but that was sorta lost in translation. not sure if that mean it swims tighter or wider.

Hope this helps... I can already feel the dollar bills falling out of my pockets.

Perfect translation! Im a jap and was about to translate, but there it is folks....

I hope they don't change out the inventory too soon in Japan cuz I will be out there in about a month and would like to get some "older" 250's... crazy how much cheaper they are out there

I actually have a topwater bait that I put a weight on a spring in just like that about 8 or so years ago. Give it a little pop and watch the water vibrate around it, just like that illustration. Showed idea to a mass produced bait company, but they didn't see the vision. Anyways, its caught fish for me pretty well considering it wasn't my confidence bait to begin with. I never tried it in a bait that I already had confidence in, just too lazy I guess. I'd love to see it in a billed swimbait that could be ground into bottom and paused giving off a few seconds of vibration.

The JDM guys are innovators extreme.

Google "Throbber" by Whopper Stopper ~ the spring and the weight thingie was done back in the 70's and was a big flop

The way the maker described it in the 2nd older model bait he put it in, I'd be willing to try it ;)
