Koldkut
You should look at tube fly tying materials. Lightweight Semi-flexible Plastic Tubes http://www.flyfishusa.com/fly-tying/tube-fly-parts.htm You can hit the tube with a lighter to create the shoulder. You see this kind of stuff used on the Rising Son swimbait, I added my own tube to the middle of one last year so it would suspend vertically through the ice. Ckjacks12
I've used the plastic Q-tips with the ends cut off.
SPEEDBEAD
I've used the insert from a Bic pen, just cut off above where the ink line is.

Get_Biggens
Red coffee stir sticks Actually did that one time. Made a deadstick/jerk bait out of an old castaic and took out the weights, added the straw. Worked actually
JTSwimbaitMan
I just made a Hudd into a line-through yesterday, works great, used the coffee straw and a small weight.
philip garcia
The best insert I have found is a wd-40 straw
justing66
You can buy RC car antennae tubes for dirt cheap. Not as cheap as coffee stirrers, however.

David Cindrich
A simple but effective way to make any swimbait a line thru comes off an old Bob King design. Take two pieces of stainless steal wire, make a hay bail loop on each. Make the rest of the stainless steal wire and make cork screws out of them and screw them into your swimbait at your desired locations. The cork screw is more than enough to hold the hay bails loops into the bait. Side note, I have never done this on a bait larger than 6".
