Rjoyal
I know there is probably something on here about this I can't find it. Bought this reel in July of this year had it 2 months loved it was super smooth went to cast one day and the reel jammed up like a backlash almost snapped my bait off. Ever since its very loud when I cast and when i retrieve feels like it's grinding. Anyone else have this problem?
SPEEDBEAD
Didnt disengage the thumb bar entirely and it engaged on the cast perhaps?
jcolo4sho
Send it to daiwa. They will either fix it or replace it.

oh ok
Just out of curiosity which handle do you have?
Mitchconners1
The buttons always screw up. U have to make sure to push it all the way to engage it. Send it to Diawa like said above
FISHON8118
I had this same exact problem. Had the reel for 3 months and worked great... until one day had an extreme lockup/backlash. Reel has never been the same since. Sent it back to manufacturer.
urbanhick
Sounds like a smoked spool bearing to me. Pull out the spool and see if the bearings are smooth still. I had one that made a hideous noise when it was casted and a few drops of Quantum hot sauce took care of the issue.

R8R
Bought one about a month ago. Finally used it notice sometimes the thumbbar doesn't engage when I engage the reel have to click the thumb bar up and that does the trick. Not sure if this will be a future issue or possibly casting of a expensive bait. What do you guys think who have own them awhile.

Had it for about a year now and couldn't find a reason to complain about it yet. Thinking about getting a fast ratio soon .
waynem
If you read the reviews of the Lexa 300 on TW you will see that a few people there have had issues with the thumb bar and the reel engaging gears on a hard cast.
