BluJay
Second bass of the year! First one was a 5.2 spot that ate a 68.... Been hearing a lot about night fishing so two weeks ago my buddy and I launched at 12:30 am... 40 degree air temp 51 water temp... Missed a few bites right away... Then about 3:30 am I got smacked! Swing for the fences and she's on!!! She runs right at me and my 5.1.1 reel could barely keep up! Get the line tight again and swung one more time for good measure... First Hookset didn't feel solid... Few seconds later she's in the net! Put her on the scale and it read 8.1!!! After posting on ig and hearing a lot of people tell me it looked bigger went to my buddy's house to test his scale... I was shorted by half a pound! Never using that scale again! Was the only fish I landed all night but so worth not sleeping and getting cold! Needless to say I will be doing a lot more night fishing!! waynem
I'm so jealous! I would need to wade through 4 feet of snow just to get to the lake, never mind the drilling holes through the ice. Super way for you to get the year started! Nice fish.
