got2be5
Been throwing the PATS (long bill) a bunch lately. The ones i have been successfull with get down to about 6-8' with 15# mono.Im inbetween rods with this size bait.It has to much torque for my ML 795,and it it is not enough bait for my for my Loomis 955.I like to feel the bait on retrieve and have had the best luck fishing this like a crainkbait bouncing it off structure etc. Anyone else fishing these style baits the same way?Let me know what rod your using.Im looking at the ML 806 and the 805cb Dobyns makes for throwing the 10xd which way overpowers the 795 (for me any way.) Thanks in advance
Got0ne
I fish my pats and crankdown slammers on my 806 and it handles them absolutely perfect. 807 also handles them great without being too much rod.
derds126
I fish my crankdown baits on a custom build by adam cargill. I know it's a phenix swimbait blank, same as production just cut a little different. I believe it's a 711mh or 711 h. Probably the heavy as I throw hudds on it too. evilcatfish
I've used a few different rods with my Pat's but feel they are most at home on my LDC Production MH SpaceGhost and Jerrystowing

Sciaramitaro
I use the guide select heavy and seems to work just fine. tried throwing it on the mh guide select and I didn't really like the feel of it!
bigpoppabass
Anything mod action should work. Treat it like a crankbait.
