skeeterj01
I have a 7" and 9", the 9" walks great using 7'9" heavy with 50lb power pro. The 7" doesn't wake good. What rod legth, power, and Lind should be used with the 7"? I'm not very familiar with swim baiting and this was the first time I've ever thrown a slammer. Any help is appreciated
Rogervang
I've thrown both 7/9in on different setup. Almost anything would work for it. Anything from MH to XH rod, 200-400 series reel, just depends on which setup I have with me at that moment. I even thrown it on the frog rod. But I do like it more on the heavy rod with a 300series reel. And I don't like braid. Haha
bigpoppabass
Gotta play around with rigs, 9 inch likes meat in rod with little flex. I would not expect to throw both on same rig. Use something softer with bend for smallet one.
FishDr
I throw my 7" slammer on a MH 7'11" Okuma Guide Select. I can throw it on the H Okuma, but the MH seems a better match. I run 20-lb Big Game on the reel. Rharris918 and fishaholic211
evilcatfish
Have you tried tuning it at all? No two slammers seem to run the same even after tinkering with them bigpoppabass
