  1. I have one that drifts to one side on a slow steady retrieve and will give an extra kick every 8-10 feet to correct itself and repeat. I get bit a lot on it when it gives that extra kick.
  2. I don't have a PA; I have a Revolution, but I really think you're going to like the Hobie. In addition to the fish finder and anchor, I would also recommend the Turbo Fins and the sailing rudder. They make a noticeable difference in speed and maneuverability.
  3. Try throwing it at night. If you've ever fished a Jitterbug at night fish the Slammer exactly the same - throw it tight to shore and around pads and weedlines and slowly wake it back. You will still catch lots of small fish on the 9" - don't worry about missing bites.
  4. If the pads aren't too thick, try waking a Slammer right through them, the bill does a pretty good job of keeping the hooks clear of snags. If they're too thick to pull that off, try finding holes in the pads, throwing a floating bait into them and deadsticking/twitching it.
  5. Color really doesn't matter much on the Slammer - I've used Hitch, Perch, Bass, White, Frog, etc. day and night and caught fish on all of them in a variety of conditions. Use whatever color you have the most confidence in.
  6. He replaced the bench (I think he still has it in his basement) with a box and painted the console white probably 30+ years ago and took the windshield off 15 or so years ago. Seeing that pic of everything restained looks awesome. Good luck with the refurbishments.
  7. Nice Slammer fish! Throwing Slammers at night is my favorite way to fish.
  8. My dad has the exact same boat, except it's a '72 - he bought it new. For a small boat, it handles rough water surprisingly well.
  9. Used, but still in great shape. $30 TYD.
  10. Deformed face, big depression on the back.
  11. Gave me a great price on a bait, was easy to communicate with, and shipped super quickly with tracking info.
