ISO_the1
I've been thinking about this for a long time now, long before swimbaitting, to try and deter the CnK fisherman from harvesting the toads we spend so much time and money hunting just for a picture and self gratification. I've pondered safety pins, they will rust and potentially harm the fish. Making my own tags stating internal tracking implant DO NOT KEEP, and many other far fetched plans. I found these guys last night and seems pretty cool. Especially in a place with multiple big bass hunters, they can all report on the growth and whereabouts of the fish. Plus it will hopefully deter the others from taking the fish home. What do you guys think??? http://www.fishtagger.com/
TheGoodCat
You might want to see if it's legal in your state before you do anything. ISO_the1
Codyc
Ya there's definatly some permits required for that if I'm not mistaken. But would definaty be cool to track the fish and learn there habits.
ISO_the1
For personal records I thought about using a paper hole punch and punching a small hole in the tail fin to track how many times its been caught...again just a thought. The fish will just fill in the hole. No point.

Lucid_Dreams23
I think we put them through enough turmoil, no need to stick GPS locaters on punch holes in their tails unless you plan on doing some legitimate research. waynem
I doubt that a tag will change anyone's mind as to releasing it or keeping it.
bigpoppabass
Gotta admit it would be very cool to use your side imaging and the thing would show up as a special waypoint or something.
derds126
Doug Hannon used a tagging system with his trophies. Not sure if it's available online but a diagram of his system is in his book Big Bass Magic. He was heavy into conservation and if i remember correctly his tags were harmless to the fish. hookedup
I spotted a tagged fish on my waterwolf the other day. Lots of good information someone can get from tagged fish if they are managing a lake. But if you're the type of person that keeps bass I don't think a tag will change your mind. bassbass
That is cool. Dose it effect the way the bait swims...
hookedup
It doesn't effect the swim, not even with glide baits, things pretty cool.
D.Harper603
They have a video on "how to tag" the fish... fish seems decently pissed. A picture is good for me Lucid_Dreams23
