Dancran
Hey guys I was wondering how shallow you can work a ss mag on a slow to moderate retrieve? I want a bigger profile than a hud but the lake that I'm looking to use it on is only about 6-10 feet deep through most of it and a really weedy bottom so I'm wondering would I be able to keep a mag out of the weeds without moving it too quickly? Az_urban_swimbaiter
Depends what the fish want as far a speed goes ... I've caught fish burning baits as well as reeling so slow slow I thought the bait wasn't moving . Try it out . Let us know

Let us know Thanks but not asking what speed to fish the bait what I'm wondering is how shallow a mag will run at a moderate retrieve? Will I be able to keep a mag off the bottom in ~6 feet of water without burning it or is the sink rate too fast?
Top Ramen
With the slow sink version, you should have no problem. Az_urban_swimbaiter and Dancran
Az_urban_swimbaiter
Oh my bad , but yes if you have a slow sink baitsmith no problems should occur . Dancran

bigworm
Its easy to open up the belly and cut a little lead out too if you really want it to slow down. The line you use will make a difference too ATFISHING1234
gradycodd
Just be careful of letting it touch anything cause the foam will probly snap in half...
YELOSUB
Yep, out of the (5) of the Mags I own, (3) have broken foam cores...I like using the broken ones, the fish don't seem to mind smashing them
