fishintx
Hey guys I can't seem to find a topic on this that I have been able to find at least so if this has been covered let me know thanks Anyway what am I doing wrong on my line through baits? It seems like all but maybe 2 line through baits consistently spin/roll on the entire retrieve to where I'm not getting the paddle action from the tail or any action desired out of the bait I've tried slowing down but it hasn't seemed to help much any ideas? Spottie
What kinds of baits are you throwing? I have had a bad experience with the Jerry Rago Line Through. I have one Optimum and one osprey and it is great, I love them! Edited January 21, 2016 by Spottie fishintx and M4TT

Spottie
I've heard the 3:16s are great. The only bad ones I hear about are the Jerry Rago ones. fishintx and M4TT
Mattlures
Add a split shot right on top of the treble hook. That and boil the bait to make sure its straight and soft. Those two thing should fix pretty much any line through bait fishintx and jdhudsonoutdoors
bigpoppabass
I have not had this other than with older baits i have, but your line and rig could simply be overpowering the baits. Sometimes the kick is subtle and not a thump...maybe a downsized mod action rod rig would work. fishintx
Bass Addict
you could try a piece of a nail weigh in the middle or slightly more towards the middle front (experiment till it swims how you like it) and slightly off centered to the opposite side of the direction in rolls too. It works with a rising son. nightbite
Top Ramen
Make sure it's rigged straight. Also, how fast are you retrieving them? I can only get the Rising Sons to roll if I burn them. If it's a bottom hook, you might try adding a nail weight in the belly. Lastly, hold it in the water by it's head -- is the tail hanging straight or crooked? If it's crooked at all, dip it in boiling water to soften it and straighten it out. fishintx
flaswimbaiter
I use nail weights fishintx
