JCBass
Does anyone have insight as to if Shimano is coming out with 400 Conquests or 400 TE's in silver with gold accents? I for one, am tired of my gold TE's Thanks. -R

Londonmitch
Haven't heard anything but with all the Trinidads going silver I bet the Calcutta/Conquest wil follow.

wiswimbait
Wish daiwa would make something as nice as a zillion or better yet steez in a bigger round reel. I know I'm in a majority but I like daiwa stuff better. Luna 300L type R all chrome and built like a tank. I'd pay $500.
JCBass
JT, you said it! Loves me my new XXH LDC! Having two more on the way Jdo23, "$800" too much? It is alot. Yet, crazies like Ben and Boomah's got $800 Daiwa Black Sheep reels alone. Add LDC rod, that is $1,300 without custom carbon handles, or super-tuning nor upgraded bearings... easily $1,500. Yikes! I kid you not. I have a one-off $2,200 Megabass drop-shot spinning rod and Ito reel---actually two of them London..., sounds reasonable. I hope you're right! Wisswimbaits, this Summer, Ben got me using Daiwa Plutons in the 5:1. I LOVE them! Haven't caught DD's yet on them, but as Ben's my witness---good un's. Those little reels are crazy powerful. They have torque of 400's! I'd like to end up with 3 silver Conquest 400's and 3 silver Daiwa Plutons----all reels on LDC's! Thank you guys for your valued inputs! -Richard

Ali
Wish daiwa would make something as nice as a zillion or better yet steez in a bigger round reel. I know I'm in a majority but I like daiwa stuff better. Luna 300L type R all chrome and built like a tank. I'd pay $500. I am with you on this one. I love Daiwa reels but am forced to fish Shimano since the TE/Conquest is way better than the Lunas. A 253/300 (Daiwa talk for 300/400 in Shimano) Pluton would be awesome. Oh, and it needs to come in left-hand. Otherwise it is just as worthless to me as the Black Sheep Richard, $2000 is nothing in my world. If you'd like to target bluewater species with a fly rod, you're in for a $900 rod and $2500 reel. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, silver Calcutta. That would be very nice. Looks like Shimano has finally realized it is no longer 1974 -Ali

But the performance is that of a 400B---for $450 -Richard
BassAssassin49
Haven't heard anything but with all the Trinidads going silver I bet the Calcutta/Conquest wil follow. yep, I'd agree this would be the best indicator if any. Those new trinis are sweet too!
slimeking
Just buy a 400 LJV calcutta and swap out the handle to a carbon fiber double paddle handle...not cheap, but you would get your silver 400.

True. The Abu Skt Handle also fits and is silver. It has 4 bearings and I think it goes for $

The LJV has engraved side plate that says, Jigging blah blah... For me, not attractive, and I'm not "Jigging" with it By the time one pays for Abu handle, new side plate from Japan's silver 400B---I'm into a $369 reel---for $500 For $500, I'd rather own a Conquest 400. But then, it is fugly gold. So that leaves me with waiting for Shimano to come out of "1974", per what Ali said And I'm a kinda purist...can't get myself to put an Abu handle on a Shimano reel. For me, that's like putting the "Dobyns" name on an LDC rod Thank you for your input guys! -R
