ATFISHING1234
I had the experience of hooking one from the beach. Many years ago as a teen, on one of our yearly visits to my uncles house, I hooked into one while fishing live bait. I was using a Penn squider and I don't recall the rod, with 20# mono. Talk about a ride! Not sure how big it was, but it was big. My line was ripping off the reel as this thing kept going airborn further and further away from me towards deeper water. I was about to get spooled so I buttoned down the drag and hoped for the best......The fish won. 30+ years later I still talk about that day.....would love to experience that again. Good luck, would love to see some video as well. pigmurkerz
bassing305
Yeah catching a Tarpon is significantly more difficult than catching a bass, even a +10 pounder. Tarpon are capable of spooling a reel,so make sure to have plenty of line and a reel with a smooth drag.By far one of the best gamefish you can catch in Florida. pigmurkerz and MrBadExample
