bigpoppabass
Pain to get to if I recall correctly. Have it professionally done chances are something else needs to be fixed too.

cloteal_cast
It's not that bad to change a pawl...but I'd send it in to get professionally done along with a cleaning
Rogervang
Might consider changing out the worm gear shaft also bigpoppabass and jakevlastnik
Mossypumpkin
It literally takes 3 minutes. And it may not need to be replaced, might just need to have the pawl and worm gear cleaned. Once grease and dirt build up on the forks of the pawl it can cause the issue you're having. I usually just clean out the pawl and it's fine waynem

Its a 3 minute operation at most. Remove the pawl cover and pull the pawl out noting the direction it is oriented. Clean it and before you put it back in rotate it 180 degrees which sometimes helps. And put an order in for a new one because sooner or later you are going to need to replace it - its a cheap part. MA Frog Man
MA Frog Man
Sometimes it's just as simple as the cap on the pawl coming loose. It's worth it to take it out and check it though
Mossypumpkin
Ya they're like $2-$3 each. Order straight from the maker and get a 4 or 5. If you really want someone to do it, pay shipping and send it to me
