BigSlant
Auto inflate is the best bet..if your thrown from a boat you don't know if you're going to be conscious or not..if unconscious I'd rather hope the auto inflate works cause your not gonna pull a cord anyway on a manual inflate..don't be cheap with your life
JR Basser
Like Tony says, don't be cheap! I run the Mustang auto, hydrostatic deployment only,, not like the cheapos w the salt tablet armeture that go off constantly in damp conditions, but it actually takes submersion to deploy. And they're as compact and convenient as it gets. Run about $

kayl
If you want a low profile traditional style pfd, look at the NRS Chinook. I have one for my kayak and it's great. perfectpaul
perfectpaul
Had the Chinook for 3 years now. Definitely the most comfortable of the traditional styles I have worn. kayl

andrewbee
Another vote for the Chinook... Did what I needed it to do when I flipped my kayak plus the back pad is up by your shoulders so it doesnt interfere with any boat seats after hours of fishing kayl
