chrisstanley11
Any you Los Angeles area dudes fish this little lake? They stock it with trout like every couple weeks, got To be some trout eaters in there. I have close friend that lives a 5 minute walk away and was thinking about bringing some gear on my next visit. chrisstanley11
Haha right? I was half planning on it. I used to to live close to that hood. It's a lot better know than it used to be when I lived there. I know those bass brigade dudes would fish this lake
Tony91723
Alot of city lakes are stocked though out LA, OC I like your way of thinking with this topic. I say it's worth giving it a try.
Tony91723
After some research it looks like it's been drained and rehabilitated within the last few years..
Northeast Bassin
All I have to say about Echo Park is don't get jacked if you do go there.
chrisstanley11
It's a lot safer than used to be since a bunch of hipster started moving there 10 years ago. Crap somebody has had to have thrown some baits there on here? Edited January 28, 2017 by chrisstanley11 PHYSH83
brushhawg1
It used to be a monster factory, but as noted above, the lake was drained and all the fish relocated. However since the lake was refilled, by what I've heard and seen, anglers in the know are relocating bass back into the lake. How many and how big, there is no way to know. I myself back in the 1990's had a pretty good run there. Edited January 28, 2017 by brushhawg1 chrisstanley11
chrisstanley11
Dude awesome worth bringing some gear then. My buddy is looking to get into fishing since he lives so close. Might pass him the swimbait bug. He can afford it haha. Seen some a video dated in June of 2016 of a decent fish being caught not on a SB but yeah. They stock the shot out of it! brushhawg1
Chris, all of my large fish were caught on conventional baits, but I know young guns are out there throwing some big baits rats, etc. I think I know the video you are speaking off. Prior to the drain, that lake had lots of bluegill , trash fish, and yes, trout plants. It's not big , so it's easy to cover. Spring time is nice. I might head back out myself as it gets warmer. chrisstanley11
Yeah they stocked it two weeks ago and it's scheduled to get stocked again this weekend. I wonder when it was drained? Yeah I've been to the lake plenty of times back in 2006-2008 but I haven't seen it since and didn't fish it then. brushhawg1
It reopened June 2013. I'm thinking that it's been "restocked". And I did try some swimbaits there back in the day, but wasn't dedicated as I could have been. chrisstanley11
