kennebecstripers
Hey everyone, Going to be in Santa Monica and San Fran next week and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on some good local tackle shops I could check out while I'm there? Thanks!
R8R
If your going to San Francisco, stop by Coyote Bait and Tackle in San Jose they have nice stuff, nice baits, then in South San Francisco there is Hi's Tackle. asavamedhi, surfk9, Gavin721 and 3 others

blckshirt98
Coyote Bait is my favorite tackle shop and is a bit out of the way from San Francisco but they have the best/friendliest staff around. If you can make the trip down to San Jose just introduce yourself and let them know you're visiting and strike up a conversation, it'll be like the fishing version of Cheers. I haven't been to Hi's yet but that's the other local tackle shop with a great rep that always comes up in discussions. Down south try to make a trip out to The Longfin in Anaheim- probably the largest selection of Triple Trouts you'll find anywhere. I try to go every year when visiting family down south. Angler's Choice is a place I've read a lot about but their store hours never lined up with when I was in the area, but on the list of places to check out. brushhawg1
Anglers Marine is a great shop but it's closer to Orange County the Santa Monica. I used to live near SM and there was only one shop near Marina Del Rey and it was a salt shop. Can't think of any others. Bob Sands is in Van Nuys, just over the hill. They are a friendly shop and have a decent bass, swimbait, salt water thing going on. Darth Baiter

hydrocephalic
Brain, the best swimbait collection I've seen in SD is at East County Bait and Tackle. Barnacle Bill's is ok for swimbaits. Angler's Arsenal has a slim selection. Those would be where I would check if I were going back home. Darth Baiter

Darth Baiter
Anglers's Arsenal, East County Bait and Tackle , Barnacle Bills if you want Swimbait's and good tackle, Turners Outdoorsman if you want ok to ehhhhhh tackle, and I think that's really all that's left in San Diego County worth talking about. If you happen to make your way up to Anaheim, I highly recommend Anglers Marine and Performance Tackle. blckshirt98
blckshirt98
Forgot about Performance Tackle! I've made a couple of trips there and have gotten almost all of my CL8 baits from them!
