Honkytonk
Well, didn't go as planned, stuck a 2.6, lost a 5+, and got swooped by an osprey. We laid a towel over the birds head as we pulled the hook (in his foot) out. The bird waited until its wings were dry enough to fly and he took off! Awesome saving the bird, as well as a good time ACE of Bass, jhoozie1, VanBass1707 and 16 others

Zigtherat
That's crazy! Glad you could get the hooks out of the osprey. Thing looks a bit annoyed haha.
Craig
lol.. that osprey looks bleak. Great to hear he was released safely though. A friend of mine hooked a pelican while fly fishing. People where screaming at him as he desperately tried to catch the bird.. then a dog charged into the surf to add to the chaos. Wish he got that on video... massbass10

Dirtroadhound
That would be some great advertising for the bait company, so real it fooled an Osprey!
Dirtroadhound
What bait is that? Thanks, I am new to SBing. Honkytonk
FishDr
Good start to using the bait. Thanks for taking the time and effort to unhook the osprey - they've got a serious set of talons to deal with. It gives swimbait fishermen a good name. I once had a brown pelican cone out of nowhere and nail a lunker punker. I had to unhook it twice - after unhooked it the first time, the darned bird chucked a hissy fit and managed to tangle its wings in the line and dragged the punker into them as well. Luckily, the second release went okay - the bird sat on the water about 30' away giving me the evil eye. massbass10

justinlubbers92
A couple weeks ago a giant (non alligator) snapping turtle bit my savage gear bluegill and ended up hooking his foot too. It was very sad. Very good to see you got the bird safely released.
massbass10
This past weekend we were fishing for funny fish off cape cod when we drifted into a massive school of bait and birds. I zinged a cast out wild a deadly dick and a seagull came out of nowhere and got hit. It was a PAIN getting the hook out of his leg. I felt wicked bad but he got revenge by biting my hand.
