sluglord
So as the title suggests I'm diving into the world of swim baits, I have some cheaper ones like the s waver and gantarel and such but I'm looking to get a MS slammer I haven't decided on 7 or 9 yet or what color. I live in Alabama with no trout stocked lakes near me. just need some input on the most versatile colors and sizes that I can fish night and day. Thanks Low&Slow
danthefisherman
Most guys will probably suggest you go 9" from the start... don't have one myself but it's what I've been hearing. timcauliffe
9" Slammer. No turning back. 7" will catch fish, but 9" will pull what you want. Fish it over and around brush, weeds, weed edges and just about anywhere. Day or night. Wake, crank or walk it. It will catch fish. Don't fret on color. For the most part, a bass is going to react to the action over a paint job. Craig
northeast_trev
+1000 on the 9" Slammer. If you can find one, the deep cranking option is more versatile. Wakes and walks just as much, but can be cranked down 1-3' depending on speed waynem and timcauliffe
dub4502
Agree on the 9" slammer, I have a few 7's and I really only fish my 9". My 9 will crank down a few feet no prob, though i dont usually fish it that way. Just a nice slow retrieve seems to be the ticket for me. Purple nitro has gotten bit for me mid day and middle of the night, but color doesnt matter that much. timcauliffe
gcopple
I have the most confidence in the golden shiner color. I have both the 7 and 9in. Get bit with both.

Cody_the_kook
My first swimbait fish was a 9" slammer. Get the bass pattern, cannibalism isn't frowned upon in the fish world.
