phishinghookz
Hey Underground, just wondering what you all throw during summer fishing with big swimbaits. I live out in Southern California and its freaking hot out here...lol...anyways do you prefer swimbaits during the summer months and if so do you throw a shad or bluegill imitation? Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. Glide baits are my favorite baits in summer. I use the S-Waver 168 in a bluegill pattern to catch northern strain bass here. Almost broke my PB last year in July using that bait. Also, look at this article: http://www.westernbass.com/shared/mag_wb/wb_mag_summer_2017/page33/index.html phishinghookz

The Reel McCoy
I'm from SoCal too and I feel like you can honestly get bit on anything during summer. I've had the most success/confidence with a bull shooter. phishinghookz and Tony91723
Top Ramen
I live out in Southern California and its freaking hot out here... As a Texan, this made me laugh. That's just precious. Throw big wakes at night or in low-light. During the day, I mostly throw Rising Sons and glides. Top Ramen
113° isn't considered hot in TX? Haha Where in SoCal are you regularly hitting 113 degrees? (Palm Springs doesn't count) Edited August 8, 2017 by Top Ramen
Nick S.
It was around 110° in Santa Clarita for what seemed like forever, probably more like two or three weeks. It's been high 90's to low 100's for the last two months though.
Top Ramen
It was around 110° in Santa Clarita for what seemed like forever, probably more like two or three weeks. It's been high 90's to low 100's for the last two months though. That's really unusual, isn't it? I thought the average high for LA in August was around 80 degrees. Even at 8 at night its still aroud 92-95 degrees.
Rogervang
I can't stand the heat during the day, even at night too. But I got to take advantage of the wake bite at night. A big rat or wake gill usually get the job done.

Not really, it seems like we spend a month or so every year with the thermometer hitting above 100°. I've been lucky enough to be working out of town for most of the summer though. Mostly in nice, cool places like Las Vegas haha.
