Bigbadbass
Has anyone tried these reels? I've got a Tranx 400 high speed that I love for throwing whoppers and some heavier swimbaits but For another reel, its going to hurt to drop another $300 so was wondering how the A3 compates to the Tranx. If it is just as good, I might go for it even though it will have a slightly smaller spool. Def looks better in my opinion.... 20-25 lb mono/fluro. Thanks for any opinions! Burritoboiii
I bought a Tranx, love it. Can't say anything about 13 as I've never used their reels.

Rogervang
We are in opposite boat looking at opposite directions. I have an A3 and looking into a tranx. Don't get me wrong, I love the A3 but something about the tranx has me wanting to spend some money

bassfiend72
Nobody have any issues with the Tranx thumb bar being so sharp. I threw it all day and the inside of my thumb almost formed a blister,
HookdUp
I just got done throwing both of mine all day and haven’t any issues .. I had a 300 that was very stiff to engage though . bassfiend72
Bass_blaster
I’ve got both a Tranx 400 (only had a few weeks) and the 13 Concept A3 (been using in fresh and saltwater for 6 months or so) and I like the Tranx more. The A3 is plenty good but if I had to do it over again I’d swap my A3 for a Tranx 300. It’s hard (in my opinion) to beat shimano bass reels. Tranx feels a bit sturdier and smoother, more refined. A3 has been plenty strong for fishing 25lb line mainly for structure fishing calicos as well as throwing some larger freshwater baits.
