Born 2 fish
First off I look forward to learning a lot from everyone. I tried searching but couldn't find the answer Here is my set up a just got a fury 795 I have a Lews bb1 in 6.3 that I'm going to use. Here is my problem I can't decide on my line should I use 15 lb fluorocarbon or 20 lb big game? My bait's right now are S waver's 168 and jackall ganteral jr's. Thanks Jason. chevro1et
Either one should be fine for those baits. Make your choice based on what you currently have on hand.

ferrulewax
I would run 15# flouro. You'll get more action from the bait, and be a little more stealthy. If you are looking for big smart fish, I'd take any advantage I could get. it'll also let you run the bait a bit deeper. Top Ramen
#15 flouro or co-poly. I generally use #16 Sniper FC on my smaller baits and I've been very happy with it. basskickinrednick
drewmoniz
If you've got toothy fish in your Wisconsin waters you might wanna run 20 lb e-squaredbassin
Andrewwang1769
I throw my 168s on a GLX 894 with a Metanium MGL. 50lb braid to a 15lb red label leader and it works great for me. I used to use the 795 but it was too much of a broomstick for the 168 so i switch to the GLX. Good lucky with the swaver. It produces a lot of fish for me. Born 2 fish
Thanks guys I really hope the 795 isn't to stiff of a rod I bought it because a lot of people recommended it for these bait's.
danthefisherman
It isn't...love using my Fury 795 for baits in that weight range! drewmoniz
Born 2 fish
Thanks Dan that makes me feel better about the rod. Also since I can't edit my original post I just ordered a Lews super duty wide spool 7.1 to go with the fury 795.
Smoothjd
Ive used the Lews SD Wide spool for 16 months and it has been a great reel for me. Put the time in with the bigger baits and you’ll see results.

It isn't...love using my Fury 795 for baits in that weight range! Yup the 795 is money in that 1-3 oz range. Def won't be too stiff for 168's and Gantarel Jrs. Enjoy bro you got yourself a good setup now go catch some hogs! Edited February 20, 2018 by drewmoniz danthefisherman
DonnyDfish
I throw my waver 168 on my okuma guide select H paired with a curado 200 k with 12 to 15 lb sunline assassin. I love it. Remember tho, a lot of this stuff is personal preference so you may have to try what you like. I had never fished sunline before but tactical bassin recommended it so I gave it a try. Very happy. Usually run seaguar abrazx but thought I'd try something new. Either way don't think too much about it. Throw one one and go fish and see what feels good to you. crappie25
I throw my 168 on 8# maxima
NORTHERN_GLIDER
I own the champion 795ML Not sure how it compares to the Fury 795 but the Champion has the perfect tip IMO for glide baits Ssuch as the SWaver 168. Go fluoro. If theFury as the same rating, it is way overrated in the weight of baits it can handle. I do not go further than 2.5oz with that rod.
