matthewbaver
back in Aug under the smoke from the fires i had 28 pounds for 5 fish on Shasta the two below came on the same bait at the same time one was 7.14 and the other 6.13 there was a third on as well about the same size but popped off boat side 5 min later i boated another 6 and one just shy of 6 and a 4 all spotted bass. i know they are not largies but i work with what i have and this was a day i will never forget since than i have boated numerous 6-7's but nothing like that day..............the year before in Aug i boated a 8.6 spot something special with Aug on Shasta fishnchips35, Randykast, huskers55 and 9 others
CaliBassin
That’s awesome!! Shasta is my home lake. Have yet to catch any true giants there but managed to break one off (9+) on a swimbait just a month or two before your epic day.
matthewbaver
Yeah not sure what the deal is with summer time there both those fish are hungry for sure two summers in a row where I have hooked up beasts. I am getting a huge amount of short strikes in the last couple weeks though......
CaliBassin
Yeah it’s crazy to me how everyone just completely stops fishing shasta around march or April. To me it seems like the fishing is 10x better in the summer
