blckshirt98
Hi all, I have a hoarder buddy who has picked up some things over the years and now needs some help finishing the setup puzzle to maybe one day sack up and throw the full range of swimbaits available to him. Given the list of rods and reels below, what would be the missing reels/line/pairing to have a setup on hand to throw whatever bait he may want to throw? 13 Fishing Muse Black 7'9" H-F (2-4oz) LDC Production 8'0" H-S (2-7oz) Phenix M1 Inshore 9'0 H-F (3-8oz) 13 Fishing Muse Black XH-F 8'0" (8-14oz) Curado 301E (25lb FC Sniper FC) (currently paired with the Phenix) Curado 301DSV (needs line) 201/301/401 size reel? and what line? 201/301/401 size reel? and what line? ewillsd
Is he trying to have all four rods paired up with baits tied on? With the LDC, Phenix, and Muse Black XH he could throw pretty much everything he needs or wants.
blckshirt98
Pretty much a reel on every rod, ready to go. I guess 300 sized reels across the board will work, and lines would be: 25lb fluoro, 20lb mono, 30lb mono, and braid (will research # test). You're right on the money. 300 sized reels are all you really need. With line, you will want to think about the type of bait that you will be throwing. A lot of people like throwing soft baits on fluoro and their hard baits on mono. 20 - 25# mono is pretty much all you should really need unless you are throwing some absolutely monstrous baits. Good Luck
bassbass
Depends on what baits he is hoarding PNW bass and Nick S.
