offduty
I do not trust many rod lure ratings sometimes they dont handle the heavier baits like they say they can especially when you are talking between 4 and 9 oz's
Jfish
I throw my big baits (6-10 oz) on a Loomis BBR966 as well and it doesn't even flinch-power stick for sure. Its two different applications and you really will want to have at least two different sticks: one for light to moderate baits (2-5 oz) and one for heavy-x-heavy baits (5-10 oz) whenever you want to bring out the big guns. Heard lots of good things about the Dobyns 807 for big baits but I've always been a Loomis/Shimano guy because I've always been happy with their performance. JDHanson79
Anybody have any thoughts on a crucial XH? I thought the handle was way to short on the Crucial. Thanks guys for the info. The most I am looking to spend is 240.00 so that is why I was leaning toward the Dobyns. I may have to check out that Loomis though. I have the XH with a 3" handle extension on it. It works well I picked up the rod from a somebody on the boards.
fishingfool316
Where can you pick up an extension piece for the shimano swimbait rods?
