Dirtroadhound
Finally after a long time grinding the big baits. I went out yesterday for a few hours on Lake Chickamauga and crushed them. On one stretch of bank in a 100-yard spot, back and forth, only 3 minutes from boat launch with grass coming up in about 5-7 feet of water and the wind from a thunderstorm blowing into it. bigfish85, David R, PKNNH and 12 others

Noreaster603
thats good stuff right there congrats how did you hit the fish slow retrieve, pauses and twitches, crank it in?
Dirtroadhound
A couple of turns on the reel and then let it glide, let it sit still and sink sometimes, and when it got hung in the grass I would give it a rip to try and free it. They were just hangry and crushing it. Great day. I went back the next day and nada, but managed this big girl on a plastic off of a point. She was busting a shad every now and then and no interest in the phoney so I chunked a brush hop and first cast she nailed it. Best two days of fishing in a long time. No scale but a solid fish. dheath2
That’s an awesome time on the water. Are you fishing out of a pontoon boat?
Dirtroadhound
Similar but it is a deck boat. Business in the front (fishing platform) and party in the back, we call it the Mullet. Not ideal but the wife will go out with me all day long and hang because she is comfy while I fish.
bchalk22
The fish are cool and all but the Mullet is the boss of boats!! That thing is hella cool.
