First Official Swimbait

I don't have much for build pictures but this is my first swimbait/glidebait (still don't know the difference tbh) after 1 small prototype build to see if I could do it. Lure is a little less than 7 inches long and 2.5 ounces. Sending t his one to my cousin in Florida to hopefully catch a monster bass. The paint job ended up much simpler than I was going for but in the end I like it.

Looks good! Have you tested it yet?

@greentrout yes! Several tests actually now. First one was without any paint or carving just to make sure I wasn't wasting too much time on a dud bait. After I was happy with it I finished the details and clear coated and tested again. The first test had a much better action - I'm guessing because the epoxy clear coat tightened the joint up so it does have as wide of a glide now but it's still good. Definitely learned a lot for the next one I'm making.

Looks like a great shiner imitation! Awesome work!

That's exactly what I was going for! The colors are significantly darker than I was hoping and probably looks more like a walleye now than a shiner, but I'm thinking it looks good enough that the bass down in Florida will still eat it.

dang  that is a sweet looking glide, post up some swim videos

Thanks! I think I have a swim test of it prior to paint and clear coating that I could post here.

I also thought the action was just okay at first until I switched over to a higher speed gear ratio reel and man did that make a difference! I really need to invest in a specific rod/reel combo for swimbaits outside of the old 1980's Muskie combo I got from my dad.
