Back on that last full moon in June. It was 98 degrees and still managed to get the right bite. She went for 7lbs. I made another cast immediately after and broke off on another fish because I didn’t re-tie.

Always nice to see the “basic rule of hudds” being tested and broken, the bait is truly legendary and props for thinking outside the box, that’s what swimbaits are all about!  And congrats on the awesome fish!

Thanks man! And yeah I was throwing the hinkle trout first. Saw the fish come up for it but she saw me and turned around and went back to the depths. Took out the hudd and fired it out there. Fished it right through the middle of the water column and she hammered it.

Hell of a catch! On a huddle in the middle of summer at that. I could never commit to working a bait that slow in june

Actually don’t really fish it all that slow in summer. They like it a little faster and it’s not a subtle bite they slam it.
