japanesebassman
I need a rod to throw swimbaits in local ponds. I live in NYC so all the ponds here are super shallow and the fish are not very big. I am trying to catch the lake record at just around 8 pounds. I am Dobyn's prostaff so I can get a good deal on the Champion Line. In total I am looking to spend nothing more than 400$ on the reel. I need information on gear ratios and rod power. Mostly looking for a hard bait rod.
Bassmann86
What size of baits do you plan on throwing? Shimano tranx 300A are pretty solid for the money and if you want a ratio between the tranx 300A and HG they make a grappler 300HG in Japan
SDBasser
Dobyns 867s are pretty good all around rods. You can sometimes find Calcutta conquest 300-400 under 400 bucks. Other wise get a tranx PKNNH
japanesebassman
I'm throwing baits anywhere from 2-6 ounces. I might go with a Bantam MGL with a handle upgrade. I am also deciding between a Dobyns Champion 806 or a
