Stephenk
Can someone speak on this , it looks nice and I’ve been thinking of picking one up but any idea how it handles swimbaits like how many oz would I be able to comfortable throw on it , I would have it spoiled with 20lb floro btw let me know if you guys used one thanks
Londonmitch
Great reel for line up to 20lb, should hold around 100 yards. Wouldn't go any bigger than that but you should be very happy with its performance. Stephenk

Thanks for the feedback , any idea as far as weight of Swimbait, this thing can handle , I mean the largest I would probably throw on it would be 5oz
El_Weruso
@Stephenk Not sure if this is something you can do with this Ryoga but I have the shrapnel and ironically the bait was made to fish frogs. But i use it for my 6+ oz baits and i learned from another SU member you can change the break components to a beefier size that accommodated throwing bigger baits. chefchris
So that’s the old ryoga/pluton it’s a killer reel. Solid. Very “geary “ but smooth, I owned a couple and liked them, I loaded mine with 50lb braid, you can usually get a basically brand new one for $200-250 the newer black version 1520 size is next level compared to these IMHO, two of my fishing buddies have em and they’re incredible Stephenk

I fished everything up to an 8in hudd on it without issue. Stephenk

Great platform and value right now Stephenk

Bass_blaster
If the 2020 is anything like the newer 1520 then it’ll be fantastic, especially if you can get it in the $200-$250 range. Stephenk
