swimbaitrookie Posted September 8, 2020 Report Share Posted September 8, 2020 Many years ago when I first got into the big bait thing, one of the first baits I got was a JSJ Snack Size trout - bought it off Matt Allen on the old SBN. I fished it a little but convinced myself that Texas fish wouldn't eat a trout bait and sold it to buy some stupid shad thing that was all the rage. Fast forward 12 years and as I got back into fishing I remembered how cool the action on that Snack size was so I reached out to Josh St John to see what it would take to make one of those for me. Josh graciously agreed to make the Snack Size and a HellFish for me and I got them just in time for the hottest weather and no topwater action for weeks. We finally got a little break in the temps and Monday morning setup to be a perfect topwater session.
