Luke h
So I’ve been building this glide bait and I hit a road block. I have all the Gill carvings on one side but I can’t seem to transfers over the pattern onto the other side. just curious if any one has any certain techniques . Grizzn n bassin
Usually when doing gill carvings , you make a template that you can transfer over. I think the only way now would be to get some tracing paper and trace the outlines. Just my 2 cents good job so far danthefisherman
danthefisherman
Looks cool! I will typically make a template/stencil as @Grizzn n bassin mentioned. First I will draft my design on card stock. Scan or photocopy the design just in case you want to use it later (or make another stencil to do the other side). I like to just use the same stencil and cut away just enough paper to add one detail at a time to both sides of the bait...line for line. It's a time consuming process but you can get pretty accurate results if you take your time and use previous detailing as your reference. Good luck!
