Fried Lemons Posted June 12, 2021 Report Share Posted June 12, 2021 Snakeheads typically don’t go for bigger baits but during the spawn they can be very territorial. I spotted a pair guarding a fry ball and tossed the rat I had tied on at the time, which got ignored. Switched to the TK and deadwalked it through the fry ball which they really did not appreciate. I must have made 10 or so casts and they would aggressively follow and slash at it every time. I hooked the big 10+lb female twice but she shook off both times. Unfortunately the much smaller male ended up grabbing the bait. By the time I got him off the fry ball had disappeared.
