DefectiveGlitch
Does anyone use the Hook Rash Swimbait Armor? If so what are your thoughts? Just got my first K9 and TiK Edited August 31, 2021 by DefectiveGlitch
BayAreaAngler
I have some but don’t use them, if you want to keep your baits looking new or plan to sell or trade they’re good to have. If not let the baits get rash.. fish don’t seem to mind at all. DefectiveGlitch

willlliw
seems to me like people have very strong feelings against them, not sure why. I can see where they would be good for wooden baits where hook rash might wear away a clear coat. DefectiveGlitch
ikaika
If you want to DIY, just get a roll of adhesive backed vinyl on Amazon for like $6 and cut to fit whatever bait you want to protect. Works better on a smooth bait vs. a textured one but one roll is a lifetime supply and it's five minutes work to cut them yourself. Also works well to hold tuning weights in place if you don't want to permanently glue them on, but don't want them flying off during your day of fishing. 168 Rookie, FishingBrandon, DefectiveGlitch and 1 other

Just checked this out; gotta be the winner right here. Lifetime supply for $6.99, cut to your own shape, this should make the pre-cut purpose-specific "armor" obsolete. Fried Lemons
There are certain baits where peeling off the adhesive will damage the finish. I tried it on a few baits; I have only one where the adhesive didn’t start peeling. That one is still going strong but the rest look worse than they would have with hookrash. I say just fish the baits and rash the hell out of them. They are just tools. DefectiveGlitch
