James Shiels
Caught this 8 lb 1 oz stud in the middle of July heat. Slow (painfully slow) rolling the Keitech 7.8 inch - a bait which I have fished hard and consistently for the past two years. The price and availability of the bait makes for a reliable fish catching tool in Delaware. Something like a citizen or battleshad may be more productive; however, the presence of pickerel makes me feel as if it may be tough to truly commit to and learn the bait. You lose two citizens to pickerel, you may have to wait a while to restock - whereas I can always have plenty of Keitech 7.8's in my box. _zoso, HaydenS, willlliw and 11 others

KeepinItReelFishing
Bro, I couldn't agree more with your usage of the Keitech S.I.F. 7.8. For whatever reason even though its almost 8", it doesn't get the 'blessing' of many in the swimbait world. Like you, I deal with a TON of pickerel. I once lost 3 Hudd 68's in a single day. So, in terms of big profile soft swimbaits the readily available and economical Keitech's are a MAJOR win. And, while many people put the low production lures on a pedestal, the obscene effectiveness of Keitech's Swing Impact Fat is undeniable. Like the Senko, its a lure that spawned an entire industry of knock offs due entirely to its effectiveness. When they made them in the 6.8" and 7.8" sizes I was ecstatic....combining a category creating lure with true big bait sizes. BIG congrats on cracking into the elusive 8lb club. Your plan came together perfectly. Edited October 14, 2021 by KeepinItReelFishing Swimbait302, manansalsa and CG_Fishes
Eliotwh
Dope fish. Congrats! I fish southern Florida and use the 7.8 a TON. Caught my pb on it too! I agree with all of your observations. It’s def my confidence bait.
