My wife caught a big one one day on a crank during the shad spawn at Perris. I caught a Mullet on a 4" Key Lime colored Fishtrap at the San Gabriel River mouth one day and they are thought to only eat plankton and whatnot. I've come to realize that if the conditions are right, almost any fish will eat other fish. Regardless of what their "main" diet consists of.
