What a weekend with the Albino Negotiator! Got about 15-20 most of which in the 4-5lb range. Here in Kansas City, MO that's a solid fish. What really impressed me was the drawing power of the Nego-- all of these fish were caught in 8-16ft of water. I swam the Nego about 2-5ft below the surface and when they came for it they destroyed it! I did miss one follower that would've been my 7lber I was looking for but thanks to some lurkers distracting me I forgot to give it a couple 180's before reeling it up. Got a pic of the bait-- was new before this weekend-- solid way to break her in if you ask me! Also, these fish don't seem to have fattened up yet since spawn-- we had an odd spring here and I think they are just now getting back into their normal summer pattern. Can't wait to get on em again here in a couple weeks when they have bellies full of shad!5 points

Slammer?

I would suggest ordering direct from Mike Shaw on the msslammer.com website. Even better, give Mike a phone call and ask him what colors he will have done the soonest. He's a great guy to deal with.4 points -
Update... the Slammer has landed in Spokane, Washington in the amazing PNW. Absolutely stoked to be holding this thing, and I vow to get us back on track with some fish on this beat-up beauty! Headed to Liberty Lake, Diamond Lake, and one other spot... have some day AND night fishing planned! There are three other SU members I plan on fishing with too... hoping we all have a story to tell in this baits well documented history!3 points

On Monday the guys at Swimbait Canada launched their website: https://www.swimbaitcanada.com/ Their blog section features a post titled Big baits angling in Canada. One of the founders, J-S. Forcier, walks us through his mindset of a northern swimbait angler. He gives some great insight to his approach when targeting trophies up North. There is also an in-depth interview with @Nateraz where he talks about his background, weapons of choice, and his approach to Bombin' the North. Be sure to view their Gallery & Video sections that contains a number of photos & Cast 2 Catch videos of their smallmouth, largemouth, pike, and musky. Check out the Apparel section for some of the gear they dropped as well. You can follow them on Instagram at @SwimbaitCanada to stay up to date. #SwimbaitCanada #BombingTheNorth View full record3 points -
Patina Finish
basskickinrednick and one other reacted to mike h for a topic
Wondering if anyone ever thought of making a distressed paint job. Sometimes old beat up lures just keep getting better. Would anyone throw something like this. I started to sand down the paint and re prime but decided to do this instead. I think it looks pretty cool.2 points -

Nothing special but stoked to finally get my first fish on this bait. Had one come off the other day so to stick one on 2nd cast this morning was pretty cool. Can’t beat that top water bite in the morning!1 point -
Hinkle trout for sale(brown trout)
Sarge reacted to Sciaramitaro for a topic
Older hinkle trout, custom painted in a brown trout pattern by Jason Kordan. Only has been test swam since I got it back from paint, swims and looks amazing in the water. Also has brand new fins. I hate to let this go but sometimes life gets in the way. Asking $450 shipped TYD. No trades please. Thanks 978 810 95771 point -

Ran into an epic day today. Sticking 5s left and right and a 9lber. Special plus as the catches were on a bait I made.1 point -

Skipping the battles shad around

There are probably more economical swimbaits out there to skip through heavy cover, but the battles shads seem to pull the bigger ones out.1 point -
S-waver Striper
fishnchips35 reacted to Grizzly99G for a topic
Went out Saturday with my boss chasing some stripes in N. Ga. He's a live bait guy so I threw some swimbaits while we drug some herring around. Saw a good boil and threw past it and a couple reel turns later got hammered on a Lite Trout S-waver 200. Put up a good fight but was no match for the Conquest 400, Dobyns 806, and 20 lb P-line combo. Second ever swimbait fish so I was pumped big time!!! Didn't weigh him but definitely a fun catch. My boss later caught a 20lber on live bait so hopefully one day I'll hook into one of that size on a swimmer! Nothing too impressive but just wanted to share and say thanks to everyone here that contributes and encourages. The amount of info on this site is amazing and I'll hopefully be able to contribute and give some tips one day. Again thanks to all and here she is.1 point -
Exactly. Just remove the hooks, hook hangers, eyelet, joint connectors, then cut the bait in half and replace the internal hardware. Then throw it away cause it's still jumk.1 point
