  2. Bummed I couldn’t make it up for Toxic Day 2. Looked like everyone had a good time. Next time. Got out for a quick rare Saturday session though. Tough midday bite fighting the rec boats. This one on the @slyguylures Replica Gill made it worth it though. Good eat.

  3. Recently bought a couple Sly 7.5” and a fire tiger Hogg. Didn’t take long to land a couple post spawners— Sly fish was 5.3 lbs and the Hogg was 6.8 lbs. I understand all the hype around these baits now— I’m just a little late to the party! They are perfect for my lakes here in Missouri— they love eating gills! Love them teeth marks on a new bait!! And then there’s this little savage...

This season has been good to me. Just recently got a Toxic wake n crank and yesterday (sunday) was the first day I fished it..about the 4th cast in it starts downpouring and I was ready to head back in only after those 4 casts so I'm like okay I see a downed tree I'm gonna send it. Cast out and start crankin' and I feel like I snagged a submerged branch...then it moves to the right! The pond has very clear water so to see a fish like this fighting back with a wnc in its mouth is like a dream come true! 6.1lbs in Mass is a good one for me!

  5. Just started getting into throwing glide baits. Only have a few cheap ones. But I love throwing them so far. Landed my biggest glide fish yet the other day on a flow glider 130. She went 6.2 and hit like a train. Needless to say I just got done ordering some more glides I can’t wait to try out!

I got this bait probably a month ago and it has produced almost every outing. The biggest so far was this 3lb 14oz post spawner but I had one much bigger unbutton in the weeds unfortunately. Love the action on this lure.

  7. Little recap from this past weekend. I fished my two piece albino rat both days exclusively (except for 4-6 casts with a crankdown) and Scott fished my version of pats perch in all black (bait has looser joints and more vertical play in the joints as well) All our fish this weekend came on those two baits. Day 1: We fished a newer pond from 1am to 8am on Saturday morning, new find for us this year and slowly been cracking the code on the fish/layout/etc. All the fish weighed from 2.5lbs to the biggest at 4lbs 2oz, Scott had the biggest fish of Saturday which ate boat side in one of the most aggressive hits I’ve ever witnessed. Like 3 feet from the boat, huge explosion, I don’t think he even had to reel it in, I grabbed the net and swung it in. I had 14 fish on the rat and a very aggressive crappie eat it on the surface, Scott had 12 fish. A lot of the fish came on the twitch and pause type retrieve, we would cast it out and just let it sit until all the rings went away, then give the bait a good reel crank or rod twitch, the rat likes to be fished like that, almost spook like. If that didn't work then we'd wake it for a few few feet, pause, twitch and then hook up. at one point we went 7 casts in a row with fish in the boat. They were all sitting on or around these submerged weed beds/lines, the weeds there are like thick hay, so if you work a wake bait slow enough you can fish it thru em (most of the time) some of the fish ate it as it was working thru the weeds. Got to see some epic eats, 2 times where the fish actually came up and over the rat to eat it, like how Caesar mentions in his rat theory video (which is worth a watch for sure). Like how a shark attacks a seal. Was the first time I’ve ever experienced that sort of eat, luckily it happened at false dawn so there was just enough light to get to see it. It was so good that 1 point we were actually calling the cast and fish, like “I’m going to cast right there and get a fish” or the classic "how can there not be a fish there" and boom fish on. I dropped or missed 8-12 fish and he missed about the same, if we had connected on all those fish we would of had close to 50 fish in the boat. That is Scott in the pics (I don’t show my ugly mug that often!) Day 2: Scott and I Headed back out Sunday at 1130PM and fished into Monday morning/sunrise, We both packed way less gear and less baits. We each just thru those two same baits. We had a good thunderstorm and heavy rain come thru earlier in the day, so wasn't too sure how the night would play out, the water temp had also dropped 4 degrees. We found em again, same areas, a lot less aggressive but still chewing. Scott had 8, biggest at 3lbs 9oz. I had 11, biggest was also 3lbs 9oz, all the albino rat. Lost two tails due to short strikes or fish grabbing the tail i guess, luckily had a few extras packed. we both missed or dropped 6-10 fish too. One rule we have about netting the other guys fish is the moment the first guy hooks up, the other guy grabs the net and leaves his bait out there unless its close enough to get in or sinks. So I hook up, Scott puts his rods down, he's about half way back on his retrieve, I'm cranking my fish in and as the boat swings around his bait gets smashed, guess it must have twitched/moved enough to draw a strike, he grabs his rod, so hes now got the net in one hand, rod with a fish on in the other, he's able to net mine, hands me the net, and cranks his fish in and i netted his! all in the pitch dark. so now there is two fish and two baits in the net going crazy, were laughing and hi fiving and just in disbelief. crazy stuff, never had anything like that happen before. one thing I started doing was taking 1-2 quick pics of the fish in the net for catch reference and time of the bite for my log, you'll see the pic below, helps keep track of the bite. The bigger or photo/weight worthy fish get a real pic too. was a great weekend of fishing with one of best buddies and catching bass on my own baits.

  8. I float tubed for a very long time. And caught some of my nicest fish doing so. Several 8s with a 9.4 Northern largemouth out of my tube. I would start tubing around late Feb up in Eastern Washington when the water would be barely above freezing . Wasnt to bad til it was time to quit and the thawing process started.I dont have many pics on the laptop but there is one of a very pretty Norther. And if anyone is interested in a full float tube kit ready to fish let me know. I have a almost new tube with waders and force fin fins which you all know is the best. Just getting to be to much for me to keep tubing. Finally got a small boat for ponds and lakes. Just text for pics or more info. 5099873511

  11. I fish on a Classic Accesories Colorado kick boat. I own a Skeeter 20i and still use my pontoon a ton.... I love throwing swimbaits when I’m on it because if I don’t catch a fish I’m not disappointed because it didn’t cost me $100 in gas for a trip....

  22. I fish out of a tube pretty regularly. I have caught some nice fish from it throwing big baits and obviously its nice to be able to get to areas that don't allow gas motors so you don't have to deal with wakes and super pressured water. But mentioned above, getting out to take a leak SUCKS and F the wind

Was a good 3 hour, late afternoon session. Got 2 waking the little Johnny and later got one cranking down the micro mink, which I just epoxy the lip back on yesterday. Lost a 4th one that spit the mink but was a good afternoon.

    Biggfeast Bomber Wake

We made one but didn’t swim right. I’m in the works to beef up the tail some, then going to make a 3pc from that. Should help with buoyancy and stability. Hopefully will have something in the works in the next month.

  39. Everything I change out based on feel. If my line doesn’t feel good (brittle, too nicked up, or old) then I’ll Chang For copoly/mono, I change out on average once every 3-4 months (fishing weekends only mostly) flouro I change out maybe once every 5-6 months braid I leave on until it gets too low on the spool.

  44. +1 The people who get butt hurt about the people who collect are just jealous. Like tblando said, you can only have so many on the boat. Out of the thousands of dollars of swimbaits I have, I typically bring 3 with me on most occasions. And they're all tied up ready to be thrown. The rest are hanging, or in boxes safe and sound..... all with hook keepers. We spend a lot on these things, nothing wrong with taking care of them while not in use. And who doesn't get a kick out of just staring and holding these pieces of art. It's a pretty special thing we all have here, and am glad to share this passion with a lot of you.

  45. Depends on what the bait is being used for. Hard tails are great on wake baits that you are going to twitch. That tail slap is killer! If I am fishing a slow sink a soft tail is better.

  46. whats funny is it wasnt even bass that gave me the confidence. when i first got into swimbaiting my first swimbait was a all white 6" magdraft and the first fish i caught on it was a massive crappie and the place i was fishing definitely didnt have any 6" baitfish haha
